LOQUM
Loqum is a Chicago-based producer & DJ from Istanbul, Turkey. Their style explores genres including techno, trance and jungle. Syncopated grooves, melismatic melodies, and rhythmic vocals within their production entices the listener to move and listen with curiosity. Being heavily influenced by the video game soundtracks of his early childhood, Loqum’s sound also stays true to his roots by exploring the connection between contemporary dance music of the Midwest, and diasporic music of Turkey and the Middle East.
Having deep roots in Chicago’s hip-hop and R&B scenes, Loqum appeared in the city’s techno scene in 2022, and has since performed with popular rave series such as Low Visibility and Mictlān. Their latest project, a collaborative EP of eclectic jungle remixes, was released by local label Auda Records in March 2024.
